Common questions answered
Can a person who requested a quote discount or purchase order approve it themselves?
Never. The shared approvals engine enforces strict separation of duties—the requester cannot approve their own request even if they hold the approver role.
What happens to pending approvals when a manager goes on annual leave?
When a manager has an active delegate (or approved leave in HR), Workflows routes their approval steps to the designated delegate and records both names in the audit log.
How long is the audit log kept?
The audit log records every create, update, approval, and permission change with who performed it (user, delegate, workflow rule, or API key) and retains entries for 7 years by default.
